Ministry of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Lithuanian Embassy sign Memorandum of Understanding

ABU DHABI – The Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT Abu Dhabi) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lithuanian Embassy to strengthen cultural cooperation through joint programs and initiatives.

The DCT Abu Dhabi hosted a delegation from the Lithuanian Embassy to celebrate 30 years of strong bilateral relations between the UAE and Lithuania, and to discuss ways to develop cooperation in several cultural fields.

Saeed Al Fazari, Executive Director of Support Services Sector at DCT Abu Dhabi, and Shaikha Mohamed Almehairi, Director of Library Management Department at DCT Abu Dhabi, welcomed the Lithuanian delegation, which included Jurate Ramoskiene, Chargé d’affaires at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania, and Professor Dr. Renaldas Gudauskas, Director General of the National Library.

The delegation visited the Qasr Al Hosn Public Library and the Cultural Foundation Children’s Library, and was briefed on the books, manuscripts and services offered.

They were also informed of the cultural and reading programs, initiatives and events available to all sections of the community.

During the tour, Lithuanian representatives expressed their joy to experience the various cultural activities organized by DCT Abu Dhabi and praised its efforts to instill the culture of reading in various sections of society.

A collection of books on several aspects of Emirati culture and heritage, including Emirati art and falconry, was presented to the delegation by the DCT Abu Dhabi team.
